Apply for "Seeds of Change" Microvouchers

Openworld is offering 500 microscholarships in coming months to fund digital "work-study" projects by students at entrepreneurial schools for the poor to create video clips on opportunities for sustainability. The initiative is funded by recent grants from John C. Whitehead, former coChairman of Goldman Sachs, Jack Pearce, and the Explorers Foundation. Explore the new Seeds of Change challenge offer and apply for the Seeds of Change resources.

"Partnering with the next generation of cell phone providers to stimulate new skills and jobs"

Soleman Abdi Idd (Chairman, Openworld, Inc.; partner, National Geographic cell phone venture) 

Soleman Idd is an investor and entrepreneur active in private sector cell phone and information technology, geotourism, and free economic zone development projects in Africa, the Americas, and the Middle East. His expertise includes structuring private partnerships for geotourism and Internet-based learning, and promoting land grants and leaseholds for free zones.  In addition, Mr. Idd has organized private initiatives for environmental preservation including incentives for carbon trading offsets for reforestation. Mr. Idd graduated as national valedictorian and pursued studies at the Mogadishu School of Medicine in Somalia. He holds an MBA from the Milan School of Business.
